The 2018 Washington State Book Award winners have been announced!

The YA prize went to:

The Arsonist, by Stephanie Oakes, of Spokane

The other four finalists were:

Breakfast with Neruda, by Laura Moe, of Lynnwood

This Impossible Light, by Lily Myers, of Seattle

Girls Like Me, by Nina Packebush, of Lummi

The Girl Who Wouldn’t Die, by Randall Platt, of Port Orchard

I am a tiny bit embarrassed to say that I have read NONE of these, though some of them were certainly already on my radar. Then again, it’s always cool to hear about NEW BOOKS.

Let me know about the ones you’ve read & would recommend!

The Washington State Book Award is awarded annually by the Washington State Center for the Book; the rest of the 2017 category finalists can be viewed here.
