Avi book pulled from Florida elementary school library.

Judging by the two articles I've read, it sounds as if The Fighting Ground (which was not being used as required reading) was pulled because of the phrase "my God" and possibly the word "goddamn"*.

This is not the first time this school district has had a book controversy -- check out this article from 1987.

*I'm not positive about that one, but it was described as "profanity with the word "God" in it", so that's my best guess.
