I'm halfway through Mary Stewart's Touch Not the Cat...

...AND HOLY ELIZABETH PETERS READALIKE, BATMAN.

I know, I know, this is what you guys have been telling me for AGES.

The telepathy is reminding me of Sarah Rees Brennan's Lynburn books.

ALSO. I'm wonder if this is the sort of voice that V.C. Andrews was SHOOTING FOR in the Dollanganger books? (But maybe she accidentally used the Unbelievably Overwrought Stylebook instead?)

Is Rob secretly Bryony's Unidentified Telepathic Love? He totally is, right? HE'D BETTER BE, BECAUSE THEY COOKED DINNER TOGETHER SO ADORABLY AND SO FAR, HER COUSINS ARE TOOLS WHO PROBABLY SOLD HER ARTHUR RACKHAM ORIGINAL AND RAN HER FATHER OVER.

I probably should have put the bit about her father before the bit about the art, but ARTHUR RACKHAM.
