Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye has been challenged...

...in Brookfield, Connecticut.

The challengers are taking issue with the book's use in Brookfield High School's 11th grade Honors English class:

Four parents whose teens are reading the book have complained. Three parents whose children are not reading the book also complained, as did one resident who does not have children in the school.

According to the opinion piece, several of the complainants haven't read the book in its entirety: They're basing their opinion on three short excerpts.

WHEEEEEEE!

Here's an actual news article about the situation from the same newspaper.

My favorite part? Half of the people involved in the challenge seem to be running for local office, but claim that the two situations are totally unrelated.

Tell me another one, guy!
