The Picture Book Report Project.

So, unbeknownst to me, the Picture Book Report project -- a project in which fifteen artists create illustrations for their favorite books -- has been going on for months and months.  Many of the titles are children's classics, like Alice in Wonderland and The Hobbit and Peter Pan, but there are some more modern children's classics in there as well, like The Giver and A Wrinkle in Time and Sabriel.¹

As well at From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, which is, at the moment, very much on my mind.

¹And grown-up books, too, like Geek Love and Ella Minnow Pea and Cuckoo's Nest and  Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.  Note that even the grown-up books have strong crossover appeal -- it seems like there's an inference to be made there about the transformative power of literature (or something).
