M or F? -- Lisa Papademetriou and Chris Tebbetts

M or fM or F? is SO CUTE! It's an Internet-age Jane Austen-style comedy-of-manners/romance, crossed with P.G. Wodehouse's insane plotting and W. Shakespeare's mistaken/hidden identities, told in voices similar to Brent Hartinger's Russel and a more irritable—but just as neurotic and spaztastic—version of Meg Cabot's Mia Thermopolis.

Make sense?

Also, if they ever make it into a movie, it would DEFINITELY need to be fashioned after a Bollywood musical.

It's just great. I admit to enjoying Marcus' chapters more than Frannie's—Marcus was witty and angsty while Franny was (as I mentioned before) neurotic and angsty. Jeffery never interested me much, but I would have enjoyed more Glenn. I suspect that's all just personal taste, though.

Super recommendation for fans of the more breezy and fun diary books, like the earlier Princess Diaries, also for fans of Geography Club & The Order of the Poison Oak. Fans of Boy Meets Boy will be happy to know that there is another book out there that features gay characters that are out (and comfortable about it) in their high school and at home.
